Laser Hair Removal
Lasers work very well to permanently remove unwanted hair because lasers are able to target the pigment melanin in the hair shaft, heat it up and destroy it while limiting injury to the surrounding skin. There are some limitations with hair color and skin type. Ideal candidates have less melanin or pigment in the skin and they have darker hair. The exact laser used to lighten and remove the hair will depend on your skin and the hair being treated.

IPL
​
Intense Pulsed Light treats wrinkles, oversized pores, blemishes, and aged skin on the face, neck, hands, and chest. It offers an overall rejuvenation of the skin, “lifting” and tightening the skin for up to a year with no downtime. Lighten freckles, repair sun damage, remove brown spots, and reduce fine lines with this fast treatment.

Laser Skin Resurfacing
Skin can look dull and make you look older than you really are because of age, genetics, and environmental damage. Laser skin resurfacing removes the damaged layers of skin while at the same time encouraging new cell growth. Several lasers can be used depending on the condition of your skin, your skin type, and your goals.
Tattoo Removal

Tattoo removal involves multiple laser treatments to target pigment in the deeper layers of the skin. The laser is specific to certain colors and can remove darker pigments well, but does not remove certain colors like yellow. From the time a person gets a tatoo, the immune system is already trying to break it down and absorb it into the body. Lasers speed up this process dramatically by breaking the ink into smaller particles, allowing the immune system to more rapidly resorb and remove the ink or pigment.

Vascular Lesion Removal

Certain lasers are very good at targeting the oxyhemoglobin in blood vessels and in doing so can heat up and destroy those small vessels without damaging the surrounding skin. The lasers used in our practice are good for removing smaller veins or arteries, such as spider veins or telangiectasias, but cannot treat larger vessels such as larger varicose veins.

FACIAL CHEMICAL PEELS
PCA skin professional products are scientifically formulated to gently stimulate, firm and tighten skin with little or no recovery time. PCA Chemical Peels are designed to enhance the skin’s complexion and texture and are ideal for acne, sun damage, aging skin, and dry skin. For more aggressive results and a physician-based peel, Dr. Wenzel will provide consultation.

"SCARLESS" MOLE REMOVAL
Dr. Wenzel uses high-frequency radiowave surgery to remove moles by using settings allowed by technological advances that reduce thermal damage to the skin. Radiowave surgery mechanics produce less heat and thermal damage when compared to laser or common lower frequency electrosurgery units. By removing the lesion without making an incision through the dermis, the cosmetic result is superior and a full dermis scar is avoided as this deeper layer of the skin is not damaged or incised.
