Dr. Wenzel is a dual board certified facial plastic surgeon practicing in Clyde, North Carolina, just west of Asheville.  He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Board Certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.  

 

Dr. Wenzel graduated from Davidson College at the top of his class - Summa Cum Laude with High Honors, and then attended Duke University Medical School where he remained for his 5 year residency program.  Following that time he trained under Dr. Louis Patseavouras, a pioneer of facial plastic surgery affiliated with the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.   He also trained under Dr. Charlie Finn, a facial plastic surgeon in Chapel Hill, NC, during and following his residency program.  

 

In 2000, Dr. Wenzel returned to Western North Carolina where his father practiced General Surgery for 30 years.  Since his return, he has pursued his interest in head and neck surgery as well as facial plastic surgery.  He has performed over 4,000 facial plastic and reconstructive procedures during his career.  His goal is to help patients through procedures by creating a natural "non-operated" look while restoring patient self-confidence and esteem through rejuvenation using surgical and non-surgical cosmetic dermatology procedures such as chemical peels and skin care products as well as laser surgery, laser tattoo removal, and laser hair removal.
